SYSTEMATIC THEOLOGY 505-506

COURSE DESCRIPTION:
This two semester course is for third year theology students only. During the year we shall study in Christology, which is generally less concerned with the minor details of his life; rather it deals with who He was, the incarnation, and the major events of his life (his birth, death, and resurrection). In the second semester we shall study Soteriology, the study of how God ends the separation people have from God due to sin by reconciling them with God's self. We shall study both topics as they are presented in both the Old and New Testaments. The student will learn the many symbols that depict each subject in the Old testament and the ultimate teaching of them in the New Testament. .

Homiletics: The Art of Christian Speaking

Course Description:

We shall explore everything you need to know about expository speaking and preaching in one comprehensive volume. Every element is covered---from the history of expository speaking to the importance of biblical inerrancy. We will explore hermeneutics, theology, history, biography, exegesis, grammatical analysis, study tools and methods, and much more. Seasoned pastors, seminary students and the lay person who often speaks will find this a complete and detailed course for preaching and speaking with excellence.

CREATION & THE KINGDOM OF GOD

COURSE DESCRIPTION:
Two thirds of all scripture is prophetical, and except for those scriptures dealing with the first coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and His death/resurrection, the rest deals with the purpose of God for mankind, indeed all of creation. This purpose is to be found in the study of the Theocratic Kingdom. It has been said that the scriptures cannot be rightly comprehended without a due knowledge of this kingdom. It is a fact, that the doctrine respecting the kingdom has materially affected the judgments of man concerning the canonical authority, the credibility, inspiration and the meaning of the Bible. In this class we will review all aspects of the Kingdom that begin in the millennium and end is the eternal kingdom set up on the new heavens and new earth.Class Begins: Friday, Jan. 21, 7:00-9:30 2011

OLD TESTAMENT SURVEY #202 Major Prophets

COURSE DESCRIPTION:

God communicated to divinely chosen men through dreams, visions, angels, nature, miracles, and an audible voice. They, in turn, were to expose the sinful practices of the people, call the people back to the law of God, warn the people of coming judgment, and bear witness of the coming messiah. We will study the ministry of Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel, and Daniel to see how they fulfilled their roles to “speak for” Yahweh.

The most basic division of the Bible is that of testaments or covenants between God and His people in the Old Testament, and God and His children in the New Testament. Both of the testaments are centered in Christ; the Old Testament views Christ by way of anticipation while the New Testament views Him by way of realization. In the Old Testament revelation was by means of symbols, but, in the New Testament God spoke directly through His Son and His Apostles. From Genesis through Esther we will review God’s creation, election, redemption, sanctification, instruction and correction of His earthly representatives.

BASIC BIBLE DOCTRINE #101

COURSE DESCRIPTION:
In 2 Timothy 2:15 we read that we must ‘show ourselves a workman who need not be ashamed’. How does one become a ‘good worker’? study the essence of God, what the attributes of God are and how they relate to us. This and much more will be covered in this course.Through knowledge! In Basic Bible Doctrine 101 the student will be exposed to the great doctrines of the Christian faith. This first semester we start with the Bible, our source for Truth. Next, we will focus on the study of God Himself. We will study the Trinity and why its acceptance is so vital to understanding God. We will “If any man’s work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward.” 1 Corinthians 3:14

DYNAMICS OF CHRISTIAN MARRIAGE & ROMANCE

In this class we will study laying the foundations upon which all Christian marriages and relationships are built and what are the most common problems faced in either marriage or romance. We will explore the many types and symbols of marriage as they are presented in the Bible. Finally we shall explore how marriage is the true image of God. THIS CLASS IS OPEN TO ALL.
